My journey into baking began over 40 years ago, spending countless hours in the kitchen alongside my mother, crafting delicious treats. She was an artist with entrepreneurial spirit. It was inevitable that I would eventually venture into my creating my own business. Over the years, I've explored various hobbies like cross-stitching, reading, paper crafting, quilting, and refinishing furniture, but baking has always held a special place in my heart.
I started to bake for family events, most notably, my kids' birthdays. My friends started to take notice of my desserts, and before long, I was baking for them too. For me, baking is more than reading a recipe; it's a passion that combines science, creativity, and skill, resulting in delectable creations meant to be shared and savored with love. The creation of an amazing dessert is a science of simple ingredients and pure flavors, but the (not-so) secret ingredient is always love.
Love + Sugar has been baking for you for over 12 years now! My business was born in the Lucas/Wylie area where it grew for the first seven years. As the good news spread, recipes took on a life of their own. My signature flavors became your family favorites. In 2021 we moved to Van Alstyne, Texas and a new community embraced Love + Sugar. We celebrated five years in far North Texas this summer and I am looking forward to many more!
